Hi! It's Suzanne and Davia, the sisters and mothers behind Baby Notebook. We're San Francisco natives born two years apart. Growing up, we always wished we were twins - and in some ways, it feels like we are because we share a special bond. As luck would have it, in June of 2018, we had our babies two days apart.
A little about Suzanne:
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area in a small but cozy home with my husband and daughter about 5-minutes from the beach. In the fall of 2018, Davia came to visit, and we started talking about our children's baby books. We shared notes, and sure enough, neither of us had filled out anything since their births. Interestingly enough, we come from a family that inherently enjoys documenting life experiences because we have photos in our attic of relatives that date back to the late 1800s. Being the imaginative people we are, we dreamed up Baby Notebook and how it would solve all of the problems with our baby book experience.
When I'm not working on Baby Notebook I am a stay at home mom to my 18-month-old, Klara. Before Klara came into my life, I worked full time as a pediatric occupational therapist in the SFUSD schools. My role as a therapist lives on in my role as mama and Baby Notebook. I believe it's my love for children of all abilities that keeps me excited and motivated to get our book launched and in the hands of families. I take pride in knowing our book is inclusive for special needs, adoptions, and families with parents who are in the LGBTQ community.
A little about Davia:
I live in Seattle with my husband Eric, and our two kids Leila and Levi. We moved here from Columbus, Ohio, where we met. My sister and I came up with the idea of Baby Notebook in November 2018. In January 2019, I made the decision that I was going to leave my 10-year career in fashion design to stay home with my children. I THRIVE off creativity, so it wasn't long before my sister, and I became "all in" on getting our baby book app going. I am very passionate about both my roles as a mother and co-founder of Baby Notebook.
The enjoyment that my children find in looking at their baby memory books and my passion for photography is what drives me to create this product for you. My sister and I grew up with photo albums in our home, something I enjoyed looking at as a child and still enjoy looking at today. With so much technology in our lives, a photo is rarely printed. That's why our app prompts you each week to upload pictures of your baby and to write down the stories you want to tell as they happen. To me, that is priceless! I hope this app creates a book that brings your family joy and stories to tell for years to come.
